Lughnasadh is the Gaelic name, honoring the god Lugh and his funeral games for his foster mother, Tailtiu. Lammas is the Christianized name, meaning "Loaf Mass," celebrating the first grain harvest and the baking of the first bread. Our candle honors both traditions, focusing on the themes of grain, sun, and gratitude common to both.
